IRS Announces 2014 Standard Mileage Rates 12-06-2013

The Internal Revenue Service has announce the Standard Mileage Rates for 2014. Beginning January 1, 2014, the mileage rates for business use of an automobile are:

  • 56 cents per mile for business miles driven
  • 23.5 cents per mile driven for medical or moving purposes
  • 14 cents per mile driven in service of charitable organizations

Aldridge Borden Selected as Finalist for Business in the Arts Award 11-07-2013

The Montgomery Area Business Committee for the Arts (MABCA) held its 27th annual Business in the Arts Awards luncheon on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa. Each year, the MABCA presents the Business in the Arts Awards to area businesses in recognition of outstanding and innovative business support of the arts during the previous year. The awards themselves are works of art and this year, Barbara Davis was selected to create the 2013 awards.

The 2013 Business in the Arts Awards Medium Business Finalist were Aldridge, Borden & Company, Balch & Bingham, LLP, and ServisFirst Bank.  Pictured below are Jan Bigham, Cathy Mozingo, and Roger Spain all involved with Clefworks, “a nonprofit organizations created to promote the education and enjoyment of chamber music through a series of annual performances in Montgomery, Alabama.”

Ashley Lough promoted to Firm Administrator 09-24-2013

Aldridge, Borden & Company is pleased to announce that Ashley Lough has been promoted to Firm Administrator. Ashley began her career with Aldridge, Borden after graduating from the University of Alabama. She has primarily served in the Firm’s Assurance Services Division where she has been instrumental in the development, implementation and maintenance of the Firm’s Quality Control Functions.

As Firm Administrator, Ashley will be able to utilize the skill set, which she developed in her management of quality control functions, throughout multiple areas of the Firm thereby enhancing overall operating efficiency of the Firm. In addition, Ashley will continue to oversee the Quality Control Function of the Firm.

A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Ashley is the treasurer for One Place Family Justice Center, Inc. and an officer of the Montgomery Area Wellness Coalition.
