Partner, Attestation

A Certified Public Accountant as well as a Certified Valuation Analyst, Partner Billy Cox supervises the attestation and One Source service groups. A member of the firm since 1979, he has devoted his entire professional career to serving the closely held business, not-for-profit and governmental clients of Aldridge, Borden & Company. In addition to his assurance services duties, as a CVA, he consults with business owners, board members and executive directors relative to strategic planning, succession planning, business valuation, fraud prevention, and other strategic management decisions.  He is currently the co-chairman of the long-range planning committee of a local private school.

Billy has served for over seven years as the CPA review instructor of the auditing section of the CPA exam for Auburn University at Montgomery. He has been a discussion leader for the continuing education programs for the Alabama Society of CPAs, the Examiners of Public Accountants, and the Alabama Association of Accountants. He has also been a featured speaker for the Alabama Primary Healthcare Association, Government Finance Officers’ Association, and the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce.

Billy is married to Brucie Jerkins Cox and has two children. A former chairman of the deacons and currently an elder at Morningview Baptist Church, he teaches the Adult 2 Sunday school class. He also serves as a trustee and past president of the Jimmy Hitchcock Memorial Award Committee of the YMCA. Billy currently serves on the Troy State University School of Accountancy Professional Advisory Board.

He is a member of and appointed auditor for the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants, as well as a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. He received the Career Achievement Award from the Culverhouse School of Accountancy of the University of Alabama, where he graduated in 1979 and was inducted into the Troy University School of Accountancy Hall of Honor.
